Who We Are
For more than 200 years, Vermonters have been working with wood. With skills passed down from generation to generation,
Vermont's woodworkers have built an international reputation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and exquisite design
that's unmatched. From the careful selection of the finest woods through shaping and joinery to final finish, every step
in crafting each piece relies on traditions that endure today. Even though we may use modern finishes and tools, we never
lose sight of the time-honored principles of fine woodworking.
From forests to sawmills to finished products, the industry as a whole supports about 800 companies in Vermont, employing
almost 14,000 people in shops ranging in size from one-person to nearly two hundred.
